Who have gone to fertility clinics I apologize. I apologize if you felt judged or blamed in any way. I’ve now been schooled as my little “stem cell” swimmies didn’t rise to the challenge on day one, or day two or even day three. I need to collect 3 million stem cells although only need 2 million to do the transplant. For some/most collection is 2 days. A day basically consists of nine hours attached to a machine. You can’t leave the room (or the machine) at all during the day so you have to literally eat and piss in the same narrow space. Before starting though they draw enough blood to give us an estimate of how many stem cells may be caught that day. Day one one of the lumens on my Mediport clogged and so they had to install an IV in my hand. It went right to pain mode with the IV pushing blood back in my body after the machine took what it needed - or rather could get.
As of now after three days we estimate to have collected 2.1 million stem cells. Not enough as some die in transport so today it’s back to the “drawing” board. Let’s see how much we’ll get from this session. Will today “be the final countdown?” https://youtu.be/9jK-NcRmVcw
