So the chemo given last night that was supposed to make me drunk only gave me a hangover (none of the fun and all of the pain) easily remedied with some sleep until they woke me at 4am for labs and such. It’s true that you get no sleep in the hospital. They’re constantly poking and prodding ;)
lots of visitors (medical professionals) today. Plus the addition of five more pills to my morning regimen. That’s eight pills every morning now that they said I’d be taking for the entire year!! I hate taking pills. I will only take pills with food and now that I’m still having trouble swallowing I’m doing the ”Rebel Wilson” routine of chewing my food 40 times before swallowing. My meal time is never ending!! Got all the pills in and the most of the food. scrambled eggs and yogurt (trying to be healthy) but gross alert I’m still coughing up mucus and spitting it in a garbage pail next to my bed. Just lovely!!
first set of visitors were the drs and pharmacist to explain the two rounds of chemo I got today and possible side effects. Fortunately I had none and feel fine.
next visitors were physical therapy- making me walk the hallways as fast as I could for six minutes to get a baseline of my fitness. Really I told them I do nothing. I brought my yoga mat for inspiration! They gave me some weights and exercises I’m supposed to do daily plus gave me an under the desk bike (thing is there’s no desk here!!). If I do this I’ll be fitter than prechemo so maybe I’ll try because they say exercise beats fatigue.
lunch was fairly good though long with my chewing- short ribs, mac and cheese (in honor of National mac and cheese day!!) and sautéed kale. The kale didn’t make it in me though - to difficult to break up. Michael visited at lunch. I can only have two authorized visitors and they can be here one at a time. Victoria’s my other visitor.
she came and we watched Love Island (I slept mostly as i just don’t get this show) I mean how can these peomole become so invested in each other in 3 days where they’re emotionally attached. I just think they’re emotionally attached to winning $50k.
dinner eh - Tuna salad and Victoria brought an avocado so I got some potassium. All in all a pretty uneventful day fortunately. I hope I continue to be so lucky.
